As I am in much of of New Mexico, I was attracted to the textures and colors in this Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico setting. The warm textures of classic Adobe architecture compliment the turquoise trim and Navajo rug used as a window curtain, giving this scene an updated New Mexican look. This was shot using one of may favorite cheapskate used lenses, a Tokina RMC 35-135mm F:4-4.5. This lens has adaquate sharpness, but it stands out in wonderful color rendition. This is a manual lens first made in 1975 that I purchased used on eBay for $5. It works quite well handheld when mated to my Pentax K-x DSLR (12 megapixels) with in-camera image stabilization.
