On a hot summer day in Manhattan (NYC), one of the best places to be is the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park. Park designers Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux designed an elegant Promenade that led to the grand terrace overlooking the Lake. With its classic sandstone architectural features and Roman brick paving, it feels more like a grand Venetian court than a New York park. This photo was captured on a hot summer weekend day in Central Park by Don Peterson.
