There are door and there are… doors in Santa Fe! The matching of Adobe textures and turquoise is as old as the Anasazi people that were the first inhabitants of the New Mexico. The Anasazi are the ancestors of the modern Pueblo Indians, and can trace their culture back to 200 AD. Turquoise is considered the color of happiness in the Anasazi culture and it still makes us happy today! This doorway, from the landmark La Fonda hotel in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico is a simple yet visually pleasing reminder of the timeless appeal of Adobe textures and Turquoise trim first used by the Anasazi.
