As the autumn season brings in cooler weather I like to start each day with a cup of hot tea. While I prefer chilled herb teas infused with fruit juice during the summer months, I switch to a black or green tea served steaming hot in during the fall and winter seasons. I’m not fussy about tea brands. However, I do look for the best value for my cheapskate dollar. Well, I think I have found it!
I picked up a box of National Cup Tagless Tea Bags in my local Walmart for the low price of $1.18 (US) for 100 tea bags. It was the lowest-priced brand of tea sold in Walmart, even cheaper than their own store brand. This is a blend of Orange Pekoe and Pekoe Cut Black tea typical known as black tea. What a surprise pleasant surprise it turned out to be! It is delicious! It has a smooth rich tea taste with none of the bitterness that comes from some black tea brands I have tasted. Usually, I don’t steep black tea for more than 30 seconds to avoid the biterness. I don’t need to worry about that with National Cup Tea. Even if I leave the tea bag in my cup as I drink the tea, no bitterness develops. I don’t have to use more sweetener to mask bitterness as I have done with other tea brands. It offers a very satisfying tea taste hot or iced. If you are a tea drinker, I recommend you try National Cup, especially at this ultra low price!
