The restaurants in Times Square are not merely places to dine, they are pagan temples, festooned with baubles and adorned with a thousand lights. They beckon the weary traveler, promising culinary nirvana, but delivering pizza and stromboli and fizzy drinks in disposable cups. Truth be told however, Times Square’s reputation for bad food is way overstated and undeserved. It is a haven for fast food of all sorts, and for what it is, it is quite good. With a little bit of effort, you can discover some fairly healthy light meals that are also tasty. Just don’t expect fine dining and you will not be disappointed.
