The Pond, Gapstow Bridge, Central Park, New York City ⇑

This photo shows a view of The Pond and Gapstow Bridge in Central Park, New York City. The pond is a restful sight only steps away from the harried pace of Fifth Avenue and 54th Street, at the Grand Army Plaze entrance to Central Park. However, it feels miles away from the city pace with its ivy covered bridge, ducks, turtles, and koi fish. Its a relaxed setting perfect for a picnic lunch.

This photo was shot with a Canon 10D and Canon 50mm F1. II lens. I am very impressed with the sharpness of this inexpensive lens (under $100 new). This lens also gives a good sense of the depth of the landscape as well resolving spatial detail quite nicely. A true bargain!
