South Street Seaport View

South Street Seaport View. This photo shows a view of the South Street Seaport, New York City. The lightship Ambrose is seen docked here, as part of the South Street Seaport Museum exhibit. The Ambrose lightship was built in 1908 to guide ships safely from the Atlantic Ocean into the broad mouth of lower New York Bay between Coney Island, New York and Sandy Hook, New Jersey. You also see a portion of Pier 17 which contains boutiques and a large food court with great views of the waterfront.
