Soho Winter Scene

This New York Photo shows a setting in trendy Soho, New York City on an overcast winter day. The handsome cast-iron facades in Soho give this neighborhood a rich character. SoHo boasts the greatest collection of cast-iron architecture in the world. Approximately 250 cast iron buildings stand in New York City and the majority of them are in SoHo. Cast iron was initially used as a decorative front over a pre-existing building. The attractive cast-iron revitilization in this area was originally done to attract commercial tenants to the older buildings in this area during the mid-late 1800′s.
This photos was shot with a Canon 10D and Sigma 24-70mm F3.5-5.6 lens.
