Tourists, Times Square

Models, Times Square

Models? Times Square. This is a random photo captured during street photography in the Times Square section of New York City. The light and pose in this Times Square scene seem made for a camera. I shot this with a 40 year old manual lens (Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm F3.5) at the widest aperture on my Samsung GX 1S DSLR. That lens was purchased used for $45, is one of the best photographic bargains I’ve found. You will notice that only one of the ladies is in perfect focus. That is because the depth of field at F3.5 is very limited. However, that narrow depth of field also creates a beautiful background blur (bokeh) at that aperture that adds much to the quality of this photo.
