Fulton Street, Downtown

Fulton Street, Downtown. This photo shows Fulton Street in downtown Manhattan (New York City), just a few blocks from the former site of the World Trade Center. The street is home to businesses on the upper floors, and a number of inexpensive street-level restaurants popular with office workers during lunch. However, of late this has become much more residential like much of downtown Manhattan. Like most downtown streets, it is narrow, and always cast in shadows. It is one of the oldest sections of the city, as evidenced by the cast iron architecture seen in many of its buildings.
