French Restaurant, Chelsea

Chelsea Restaurant, New York City ⇑

This photo shows a very French restaurant in the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City. I was immediately drawn to the classic French color palette of this storefront. Also, the hand-painted signs are full of color and personality. This type of hand-drawn signage is rarely seen in New York City anymore and is a pleasant departure from the polished computer rendered graphics that are so typical today. This photo was shot with a Canon 10D coupled to the Canon 50mm F1.8 II lens. I mistakenly shot with the lens wide open at F1:8. That explains the short depth-of-field. It caused the canopy to be slightly out of focus while the red sign is perfectly sharp.
