Empire State Building View. This photo shows the iconic Empire State Building, as seen from Fifth Avenue approaching 28th Street. One of the most recognizable structures on the New York City skyline, it stands heads and shoulders above it neighbors. That distinction may not last much longer. A developer wants to build a skyscraper that could compete with the Empire State Building’s stature in the same neighborhood. As a result there is a lawsuit currently being fought to prevent that from happening. We will have to wait and see if the ESB will have a rival sharing its airspace anytime soon!
