Edward Hopper’s New York City

Edward Hopper's New York City

Edward Hopper’s New York City. This photo reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting . . . the moody shadows . . . the dispassionate figures . . . and the strong architectural lines. Although captured on one of the busiest streets in New York City (42nd Street) the scene feels oddly vacuous and silent, much like the settings in Hopper’s street scenes. This was shot on a typical fall workday afternoon in front of the Conde Nast Building on 42nd Street near 6th Avenue.
