41st Street, 8th Avenue

This view from the corner of 41st Street & 8th Avenue in New York City, shows some of the remarkable changes in the Times Square area in the last decade. The recently renovated New York Times building looms in the foreground to the right. Just behind it, the multicolored panels of the Westin Hotel also recently modernized, can be seen. Recent upgrades to other residential buildings and hotels can be seen on the left side of the photo, covering 8th Avenue looking towards 54th Street. The gleaming, stylish facades are a far cry from the rather ‘run-down’ look of this area in the mid 1970′s!
