This photo, captured on a beautiful winter day, highlights the stone columns that adorn the grounds of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey. This photo was captured with a Samsung GX 1S and kit lens. This old DSLR was one of two budget models released by Samsung that are rebadged Pentax models (the GX 1S is a Pentax *ist DS). However, these cameras use 6 megapixel sensors that are generally lower in noise than 10 megapixel DSLR models and have a full set of features normally omitted from current budget priced DSLR cameras such as mirror lock-up and camera settings LCD readouts that are not merged into the menu screen. The image quality from these 6 megapixel images are very competitive with current models and offer enough resolution for most individuals print enlargement needs. If you want excellent image at a rock bottom price, finding an older refurbished or lightly used 6-megapixel DSLR model in the Canon, Nikon, Pentax or Samsung brands will be an excellent choice for photographers on a budget.
