web design - newark1.comThis photo of a beautiful white flower was captured about five years ago at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This flower photo shows one of my favorite framing techniques when shooting flowers. I carefully frame the flower so that the blur of nearby flowers in the background becomes an attractive part of the composition. By combining a wider aperture on the lens with background elements that are far enough from the subject to blur completely, pleasing backgrounds are created for the foreground flower. I have written an article on how to create smooth background blur with cheap zoom telephoto lenses that will help you to create a similar look. This was shot with an old Kiron 70-210mm F4 manual zoom telephoto lens mated to a Pentax *ist DS camera. Photo by Don Peterson, Newark1.com Web Design.
