Two Tulips

Two Tulips. These two photos of spring tulips were captured at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, New York. This is one of my most delightful subjects to photograph. These two photos were shot using a 35-year-old lens on a modern DSLR! The lens is a Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm F:3.5 mated to a Samsung GX 1S DSLR. The blurred background was achieved by shooting relatively close to the subject with the widest aperture. This creates a narrow depth of field that creates a beautiful background blur.
