Red Flower With Bee, Central Park Conservatory, New York City
It doesn’t get better than this . . . It seemed that there was a bee on practically every flower in The Conservatory (Central Park, New York City) today! It is rare for me to capture well posed bee / flower images. Today was the exception! In addition, I had ideal conditions for shooting. The sky was overcast for most of the day, creating optimum lighting for shooting these fascinating creatures and the beautiful blooms they visit. This photo was shot with a Canon Rebel XS and Canon 55-250mm EF-S IS lens, tripod mounted. I converted the raw file using Capture One 6. After importing the image into Photoshop CS5, I used the Viveza Plugin (Nik Software) to do selective edits to the image. After resizing the image for the web, I sharpened it using the SmartSharpen tool in Photoshop. I love this image because it represents why I love shooting the natural world so much. Our Creator’s wonderful works are endlessly fascinating!
