Dabbling Northern Pintail Duck

This dabbling Northen Pintail Duck was photographed in one of the fishing lagoons of Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. As I have often observed, this is a highly gregarious bird when it is not mating, and will often form large mixed flocks with other species of duck. They are a reliable visitor to the balmy weather found in Phoenix every winter.
