The First Cherry Blossoms of 2011 in Essex County!

With delicate color and fragile beauty, the first cherry blossom of Branch Brook Park are captured in this portrait of April 6, 2011. The endearing pink buds hold the promise of glorious color that will be celebrated in the fast approaching Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival! This was photographed on an overcast day that furnished soft light for revealing the full beauty of these delightful works of creation. Being among such beautiful works of art reminds me of the Creators’ power, and how gently it is applied in these constantly renewed gifts.
The park is starting to show some color today, with many of the blooms beginning to open. The timing of the blossoms is ideal for the start of the Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend!
