Cherry Blossom Art, Branch Brook Park, Belleville, NJ

web design - newark1.comI came into Branch Brook Park on this beautiful overcast day, looking for art amidst the cherry blossoms. I was not disappointed! Determined to find aesthetically pleasing arrangements of blooms, branches and backgrounds, I would walk from tree to tree, envisioning potential compositions as I studied low hanging branches loaded with blossoms. I looked for compositions that reminded me of what I remember of Japanese watercolors. Spare, elegant arrangements with washes of color.

I am quite impressed with the Canon 55-250mm lens I used to shoot this photo. Shooting handheld with the IS feature (Image Stabilization) allowed me to the freedom to constantly move about testing different angles and compositions. The images it produces are quite sharp as well.
