Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival Update - No Cherry Blossoms Yet!

Here is how Branch Brook Park, the home of the Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival, looks as of April 2, 2011. No cherry blossoms yet! The blooms are still in the “peduncle elongation” stage, the final stage of growth before bloom. Therefore, we should be right on schedule for peak bloom during the Festival on April 9-17, 2011. The baseball field seen here, just past the Essex County Cherry Blossom Welcome Center, will be surrounded by beautiful white and pink blossoms. See you there!
