Cherry Blossoms by The Canal, Branch Brook Park, Essex County, NJ

Walking through Branch Brook Park to observe cherry blossoms during misty, overcast conditions or a light rain is a wonderful experience. The diffused light reveals all of the delicate colors and textures of the trees and blooms, and creates a wonderful dreamlike setting. My camera can only hint at the beauty I saw in the park when I captured this scene. The view in this photo is near the canal in the northern Belleville side of the park. The Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing and the blooms are putting on a star-studded show. So come on down! Photo by Don Peterson.
