Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona Red Rock Buttes in Sunrise Light. ⇑

Soft sunrise light adorns the red rock buttes of Papago Park (Phoenix, Arizona) in this photo. I find that, in general, sunsets tend to be far more dramatic than sunrises in Phoenix, Arizona. But then again, that may be because I’ve slept through most sunrises. On this crisp October morning I got up early enough to be in Papago Park along with a few hardy joggers and dogwalkers. This incredibly soft light, lasting less than five minutes, occurs just before the sun peeks over the horizon. Then it’s gone. It is some of the prettiest light I’ve ever seen in Papago.
