Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona, Landscape With Dry Brush. ⇑
“The art lies in the man, not in the medium, and the photographer who loves the poetical, dreamy, sometimes melancholy moods of nature, will show those qualities in his work.” —Rudolf Eickmeyer, Jr.
Landscapes have moods. In much the way that our personalities have facets and traits that surface at varied times, landscapes can change from day to day, even moment to moment. I captured this image of Papago Park, in Phoenix, Arizona, during the monsoon season just after a brief shower. It shows not much more than dry brush and clearing skies. Yet, I find the array of colors and textures captivating.
