After The Dust Storm, Phoenix, Arizona

The dust storms in Phoenix Arizona are a part of the late summer monsoon season. This photo shows that after-effects of a summer dust storm in Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. The pinkish hued light is diffuse and soft, and some of the desert brush had their roots uncovered by the severe winds. These dust storms gather rather quickly. I waited out this one in my car (I was shooting photos in the park when it began) and found it pretty exciting! Because of all the dust that remains in the atmosphere, the sunsets are pretty dramatic and colorful.
Camera: Olympus E-300, kit lens, polarizer, ISO 100, F:8, 1/8 second exposure.
