Best Enchiladas

2006 Readers' Restaurant Picks
by Eric D. Howerton and Charles Vane
From Crosswinds Weekly (reprinted by permission)

Albuquerque: Albuquerque's three Los Cuates - two across the street from each other, the third up in the Heights - came out a clear winner. Owner Frank Barela doesn't care whether you're an original location loyalist or a new location aficionado, but he does care about his generously hefty enchiladas. Must be why all three locations are always packed. Sadie's was runner-up.

Santa Fe: Guadalupe Cafe (422 Old Santa Fe Trail, 982-9762) took the top spot here, thanks to its marvelous sour cream chicken enchiladas made with huge blue corn tortillas and white cheddar. Don't even think about asking for the chile on the side here.
